For a better monitoring of your Thing-o-Matic 3D prints, utilize a spare hobby servo (the one in Unicorn works great). You'll need Gen4 electronics and V2.7 firmware. After generating gcode for your model, use the unicorn_progress_meter.py script to add servo control messages that adjust the arm position as printing progresses. Create a visually appealing gauge and indicator arm with your skills, and you're good to go! The latest script version is available at https://github.com/makerbot/Makerbot/tree/master/Unicorn/unicorn_progress_meter
