This is a statue of Petricide, the god of Petty Agendas. He motivates his followers to target the most arrogant individuals worldwide and bring about their downfall over perceived wrongs. At the same time, devotees should also uplift the downtrodden, instilling in them a sense of self-worth. This enables their confidence to be later undermined. No, not undermined, sabotaged. Petricide doesn't want people to think that he defeated them; he wants followers to believe they sabotaged themselves due to lack of value. That is the Petricide way. Successfully manipulating a Paladin into losing his bearings, no longer adhering to Lawful Good principles, exemplifies pleasing Petricide. If this is achieved during combat and the Paladin and his entire party perish as a result, this represents the pinnacle of achievement for a follower.
