Photogrammetery grid reference for Smartphone Photo Studio
thingiverse
I'm currently printing the Smartphone Phone Studio to scan some truly one-of-a-kind chess pieces, but unfortunately the table that comes with it lacks grid lines and markers. If you're familiar with photogrammetry, you know how essential a background reference is. I'll be setting up my usual turntable in the Phone Studio and securing this to the table using glue. Stay tuned for some exciting scans of those chess pieces! As an added bonus, if anyone can provide guidance on the legality of uploading 3D scans and resulting STL files of copyrighted material from the UK, dating back to 1978, I would be incredibly grateful. I might need to modify the phone holder included with that set to accommodate a camera slot instead of just a hole. This particular design measures 80 mm x 80 mm. Please don't scale the PNG file during print - it's already been prescaled to the correct dimensions. Here is a 2D print of the image included, which I quickly drew up in Fusion 360 and then captured a picture of. I also contrasted and grey scaled it in GIMP, a free photo editing software that I highly recommend. I'm listing this as a remix simply to link the designs and make it easier for people who are trying to replicate my results or find such an item themselves. UPDATE: I've just realized that the file might not be usable after downloading from the Versa, so I've zipped it in its original form. Please use the file located in the .ZIP instead.
