The goal is to mate a standard 5/8-inch stud commonly found on studio lighting tripods with a clamp that securely holds either half-inch PVC pipe or half-inch EMT conduit. Two types of adapters exist: splined and non-splined. Employ the splined adapter to lock in the angle of the clamp, providing stability and precision. Alternatively, use the non-splined adapter when more flexibility is required. There are two outer clamps available - one designed specifically for EMT conduit and another tailored for PVC pipe.
