Photo Insert for Lid of Tudor Rose Box
thingiverse
There are two files in this set. The first file is an insert for the lid of the original Tudor Rose Box. It will hold a thin photo or slip of paper approximately 1-3/8" (height) x 1-3/4" (width) in size. This was designed to fit very tightly in the lid, so glue may not be necessary. In all prints I've done, it simply snaps into place snugly. The only post-work required is to remove two small supports underneath the frame. The blank space above the frame allows for room to maneuver a picture through the slot in the frame. To make removal easier, I often use a Post-It Bookmark stuck to the back of the picture as a tab to pull it out. To insert this piece into the lid, slide the end with blank space underneath the lock tab on the lid and then press firmly on the center of the insert to snap it into place. Be careful not to apply pressure on the decorative frame so that it doesn't break. The second file is the original lid design with the addition of the photo insert frame already combined, eliminating the need to print the two pieces separately if a new box is being printed. PLEASE NOTE: These do not require additional support for printing, although there are two manual supports beneath the open end of the frame to prevent that section from drooping excessively while printing. These small supports must be cut off with wire snips or a utility knife. It's recommended to only snip/cut them from the base, as there is normally a gap between these supports and the frame. The frame may have drooped enough to rest on them but shouldn't be fused to them much.
