Phone Tripod Mount

<p>This is a secure phone holder designed to be set on a table top or threaded on to a tripod mount.</p> <p>It comes in three separately printable pieces. (See the colored photo.) The green and pink parts thread into each other to set to the width of the phone. The yellow/orange part screws on to a tripod or sits on a table top. The pink part snaps in and out of the yellow/orange part (See 4th photo) so that you can quickly put the phone on the mount and remove it without unthreading the tripod screw.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>I print this in PLA with 0.3mm layers, but thinner layers will probably make the threads mesh more nicely. ;-)</p> <p>You'll need to buy the brass thread inserts for the tripod mount. Then place the insert into position where it go and press it into place using a hot soldering iron. That will melt the printed plastic enough to accept the insert. I don't push the insert all the way in with the soldering iron. Instead I prefer to finish making the brass part flush by pressing it on a table or board before the insert cools completely.</p>
