I designed a custom iPhone 5, 5c phone stand using the online platform Thingiverse, referencing the specific model number 2170064. To accommodate my phone's case and cord channel dimensions, I scaled up the design by an astonishing 3200%. After scaling, the phone stand was sufficiently wide, but its internal dimensions still posed a challenge - they couldn't support my phone, even without its protective case. To overcome this issue, I carefully removed the front sides of the cradle to ensure a snug fit for my phone. Next, I created an adjustable bracket that slides onto the phone stand, effectively lifting the cord 3mm into position. This innovative solution worked perfectly for one of my cords, but the other required some creative problem-solving - I wrapped tape around it to achieve a secure and elevated fit. To give this design a personal touch, I added custom text to the front of mine, leaving the blank space open for others to personalize their own creations if they choose to do so. Throughout this process, I utilized Tinkercad, a powerful 3D modeling software that made it possible to bring my vision to life.
