Phone Stand - Horizontal Viewing

I was frustrated with trying to hold my phone while watching videos at my desk or propping it up against something, only to have it slide and fall. So I designed this stand to make things easier. It's built to hold a mobile phone of total thickness less than 12.5 mm in a horizontal viewing position, and adjusts in 5 tilt positions with angles from approximately 18 to 38 degrees from vertical. The stand will also hold an iPad or other tablet. The only hardware needed to assemble is: - Screw, Socket Head Cap, M3 (2x - screw length of minimum 8 and maximum 12mm) When assembling the cradles snap sharply into the base, especially with PLA, but any elephant foot or slumping on the outer edges will make it difficult. Be prepared to deburr or file the edges if that's the case. To assemble: 1. Screw the support rod with the male thread to the right cradle using an M3 screw. 2. Slide the tilt support over the boss on the threaded support rod. 3. Screw the support rod with the female thread to the other support rod, tighten it just enough for contact, then back off a small amount. The tilt support should pivot freely but not wobble. 4. Snap both cradles into the base. 5. Insert the M3 screw into the left cradle and start tightening. Hold both cradles against either the forward or rear stops, and then tighten the screw while preventing the left support rod from turning. I print all components except the support rod halves with 0.2mm layer height and 5% infill. The support rod halves are printed with 0.15mm layer height. Make sure to share your makes and any remixes here!
