Phone Pocket Bipod / Tripod
thingiverse
Ever tried leaning your phone up against a sweatshirt or tree to try replicate a tripod? Just to have the darn phone fall over and miss your photo/video opportunity? How frustrating! Frustrate no more! Introducing: the Phone Pocket Bipod! Works like a tripod, but with 50% less parts! Slap your phone in there portrait or landscape orientation. Use one slot for a beautiful horizontal shot, or the other slot for a saucy 10 degree low/high angle shot. Want more angle? You animal. Jam something under the bipod. It'll still work better than that tree or sweatshirt! File size selection: 1. Look at the available files for download and realise it's not a one-bipod-fits-all situation 2. Measure the width of your phone with the case on 3. Add 2-3mm to this number (it's a trigonometry thing) 4. Select the file size closest to your value. 5. Scale in your slicer program to suit. Don't stress too much though, this is not an exact science by any means. Smaller than 10mm may see hinge printing problems. Printing: PLA or ABS will be fine. 0.15 layer height. Definitely no supports! I've already added a few mini supports in there to help with printing of the hinge. So it'll crack a little on the first few movements of the hinge. Higher the infill the stronger it will be.
