Phone Mount (Garage Ticket Slot)

Phone Mount (Garage Ticket Slot)

My car is a Chevy Sonic (2012). Under the radio of the console, there is a mysterious slot which one would assume is a place holder for garage tickets? I rarely park in a garage, and now garages require you to validate prior to a gate. Anyways, I wanted to actually put this slot to use. Was tired of the phone magnet/clip vent mounts or windshield suction cups as they were not always reliable. So, I made this phone mount that is more rigid and stable. R1 is a Straight mount which is flush with the console, and the R2 has a 10 degree angle towards the driver side. The is a step above the slot boss or "foot" of the mount - the purpose is to ensure there is a gap between the mount and the radio cluster. Foot width is 2.42" (~61.5 mm) , thickness is .24" (~6.1 mm) Should fit phones 3.5" (88.9 mm) wide 0.67" (17 mm) thick UPDATE: R4 is an improved design. The phone mount is on a larger angle and thicker. The long backplate wasn't necessary, the build is a bit thicker. Note, prototype the infill %, if this is left in a warm car, the PLA will warp and may no longer fit a phone. The "pocket is 3.55" wide x .675" thick/deep
