Phone Holder for NuVI mount
pinshape
My wife has a permanent mount in her car for a nüvi GPS receiver, but she asked me if I could find a way to use her cellphone for navigation instead. She loves Waze and wants to keep using it while driving. I came up with a two-part solution that connects to the existing NuVI disk mount. One part holds the phone, and the other screws together with the first. This design allows us to create new devices that attach to the NuVI mount or vice versa. Printer settings are as follows: Printer: Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .200mm Infill: 20% Cubic Assembly of the two parts is straightforward. They join with four 6-32x.375" screws and four 6-32 nuts. I used brass thumb-screws for this project. If you only want a nüvi compatible holder, just print out the back part. To use the Galaxy S5 holder for another purpose, simply print out the front part. By maintaining the same hole pattern, you can create new variations of this design. This holder was specifically made for a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone with a thin case. It may work with other mobile devices or cases, but results will vary depending on your setup.
