I never imagined that I would need such an accessory for my bycicle but now I could not live without it. It is extremely useful that I can see the SatNav during my travels. It also helps me tracking my sport activities or making a call on the way.

Advantages:

Scalable design

Easy printing and assemble

Convenient use

Different ring sizes for different bikes

I tested it with a lot of different phones and brands… iPhones fit perfectly into the sclalable holder (because of their squered frame) but other phones, like Samsung, OnePlus ect. could fit properly with a thicker phone case.

Tips for printing the rings:

Mesaure the diameter of your bycicle's steering rod

Select the appropriate size

Print the ring from a harder TPU (use higher temp for stronger layers)

0.20mm layer hight is still perfect

Place it horizontally to the bed

Apply support under the slider

Printig speed: max 30-50mm/s and 20-30mm/s extrusion speed (bowden extruder)

Printing the holder:

Use PETG or even ASA for higher heat resistence (you can also print it from PLA but make sure you don't leave your bycicle at sunny places)

If the gear seems too tight when you print, try to decrease the print size to 99% in the slicer.

Other non-printed parts needed:

You need two springs with a diameter of 5-6mms (you can use also some rubber bands) to make the holder scalable, and a 7mm screw (I used metal builder parts) to fix the ring to steering rod.

+ some other rubber bands or silicone strips for secure stability

Assemble:

String the rubber bands through the circular holes

After putting one of the rails to it's place grab the gear and the other rail together and slide them next to the first rail (the gear must be faced with the smaller hole upwards)

Slide the axis into the hole from the bottom

Attach the ring to your bycicle using a 10-12mm long screw and slide the assembled holder to the top of the ring

How to use:

I recommend using bigger ring than the diameter of your steering rod with a wide tape under it (it will prevent the ring from rotating, providing a safe connection).
