I designed this Cobb access port mount specifically for holding my Galaxy Note8 cell phone, perfect for navigating with maps and monitoring digital dash readings. I've also paired it with an OBD link Bluetooth scanner for added functionality. You can see in the pictures that my Note8 has a protective case on; to secure it within the mount, I placed some paper at one end and glued it in place, which helps keep the phone slightly off-center. Please note that this is specifically designed for the Cobb access port mount only - the white mount shown is actually a cup holder mount, but I don't think it will fit other vehicles as well as it does my 1996 Subaru Impreza. If you're interested in that, let me know and I'll consider modifying it to improve the back supports.
