Phone Holder DIY - Polypanels
myminifactory
I entered this submission to the Polypanels competition: https://www.myminifactory.com/competition/polypanels-competition-173. To learn how it's made, watch the instruction video here: https://youtu.be/Qlk28JUbSmQ. I chose the Polypanel system to build a phone holder/stand. Three different polypanels are used in this project. The main polypanel is called the 'Device Specialty Panel', and others can be attached to it. One specialty panel acts as a hook, while three slightly modified squares serve as supports for the 'Device Specialty Panel'. You can slide your phone or tablet into the 'Device Specialty Panel' and use the two clips to hang it on your car mirror. This allows you to navigate while driving, for example. The snaps on the outer sides of the device are used for this purpose. The middle snaps serve as a standard for your device. Attach three squares to it, slide your device in, and watch a video while your device is standing on a table or other surface. I was able to securely attach the 'Device Specialty Panel' to my car interior using only two of the squares attached to its middle section. The 'Device Specialty Panel' is designed specifically for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. You can modify it to fit any other size by using FreeCAD: simply alter the rectangle size and adjust the position of the snaps accordingly. The Polypanel snaps are separate parts, or you may find another way to customize it. Please note that product usage is at your own risk. The complete set includes the following components: - 1 'Device Specialty Panel' (the main specialty panel) - 2 Clips (also used as specialty panels) - 3 Squares (modified versions of the original square)
