Phone Box for Bed Loft

Phone Box for Bed Loft

I built this specifically for the side of my bed, essentially a bunk bed setup without the bottom part. I bring my phone and charger cord up there with me, but it's gotten to the point where my phone has fallen off the bed more than once - that's just too hazardous. It took me way longer than expected to create this design. Initially, I wanted to make a case that held my phone sideways and secured it onto the bars of the bed, but then I realized building a case that grips onto another case would be extremely intricate. So instead, I'm going to add velcro straps through the back of the box so it can strap itself to the bars of the loft (which is essentially a 1/2 bunk bed). The hole on the side is designed for the charger jack. I highly recommend printing with glow-in-the-dark filament - that might stick pretty badly to the platform, though. The dimensions were specifically designed for a Motorola Maxx 2 phone. There are two versions of this box available: horizontal and vertical. A rounded version would actually be better, but I'm not sure how to achieve that design.
