Philo. The 7" retro LCD television, " my recreation of the late 1950s Philco Predicta"
thingiverse
I always craved an authentic vintage vibe for my entertainment setup. That's why I've been searching tirelessly for a real Philco Predicta TV, the iconic sets often showcased in old movies and classic TV shows, and even in retro video games like Fallout. However, I couldn't track down one in decent condition, so I decided to build my own 7-inch LCD replica instead. The top half is carefully crafted using 3D printing technology, while the lower portion features beautifully stained mahogany woodwork. The LCD screen inside receives high-definition input via a single HDMI connection, allowing for seamless entertainment. A smart feature within the TV box includes an HDMI switcher to seamlessly rotate between different devices connected via cable or wirelessly. In addition to that clever setup, I also integrated an Asus NEXUS PLAYER from asus - giving this project technically qualified status as android-powered smart TV! It looks and functions remarkably similar too, since its compact hardware integrates perfectly with standard Nexus remote control accessories; plus adding another element into my already advanced design - making this more user friendly then before! \n\nBuilding the set has been quite the adventure, which required some special items along the way.
