Philips Hue light switch plate adapter
thingiverse
I've been searching for an easier way to mount my Philips Hue dimmer switches. I've tried most of the options available, but none of them met my standards, so I decided to design one myself using Fusion 360. This is what I came up with - it uses the original Hue plate as a push-fit onto the printed part, eliminating the need for extra magnets. When you remove the dimmer, access is granted to the original light switch. Typically, all that's required are longer fixing screws to reach the back box. The design should cover either a 1-gang or 2-gang switch plate. I'm currently working on a double version that will accommodate two Hue dimmers in a single-width switch plate setup, but as a complete beginner with Fusion, it's taking me some time to get it right. I've drawn and re-drawn this design multiple times, and this one seems acceptable so far - it might just need the screw holes to be slightly larger. It's still a work in progress!
