Phil Struder - Extruder Visualizer for Prusa i3 MK3

myminifactory

Phil Struder is your potential new printing friend! He has a big smile and a face full of gears :). He will put a smile on your face while visualizing your extruder motor's movements with his eyes and nose. Monitoring that your extruder is behaving as it should is made visually pleasing by this feature. A short video showing Phil Struder in action can be seen here: https://archive.org/details/PhilStruder_201901. This model is easy to print and uses Prusa's fun ColorPrint feature in Slic3rPE / PrusaControl. To assemble, superglue a Ø8x3mm magnet to one part, but the rest just snap together. The whole thing clicks onto the extruder motor and can easily be removed again. Please read the Printing tips section below. Feel free to modify Phil Struder! I have included the OpenSCAD source code (phil_struder.scad) and made it very parameterized. I have also written a lot of comments in the code, so you should find it easy to understand what is happening and make modifications. If you need help, please write a comment; I will try to assist! If you prefer to work in another CAD program, you can modify my STL-files instead. I hope we will see remixes of Phil Struder! You could add extra decorations for him, like a hat, or modify the files to give him ears, a long nose, hair, or whatever you dream of! Maybe you can even create new members of the Struder family? Like brothers, sisters, parents, children? Or maybe just create a cyclops? Thank you MyMiniFactory and Prusa Research for this great contest!
