Update 10/31/2019 I'm finally back to updating this after a long delay due to being extremely busy. Sorry about that. I won't be continuing with this build as it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. Don't worry, though - I'll be making another one or modifying this one in the future. --- This is Version 2 of my Modular Control Box for the Ender 3. It's still a work in progress, but it's getting there. I'm printing it again to make sure everything lines up and works correctly. So far, so good - most of it is printed and I'll be updating soon. One major change from Version 1 is that this one is taller, which means you can fit a 5.25 LCD drive bay display on the front along with two digital display buck converters. It also gives me more room inside to manage cables better. The Raspberry Pi (RPi) sits snugly in the back up against the wall plate. I've added a new area at the back for hiding wires and made it possible to attach wire chains, which helps keep everything tidy. The rear walls even have hinges so you can open them up to disconnect wires easily. I used JST and Powerpole connectors on the wall plates just like in Version 1, so compatibility shouldn't be an issue. To assemble it, all you need are some 4mm screws (and a few 3mm ones too). Remember to be gentle when screwing things together for the first time - I've threaded most of it, but sometimes the threads don't come out right due to printer settings or materials. Exerting too much force could cause the mounts to snap, so take your time. I'll be adding more options as and when I have time or if you request them. One feature I'm planning is different walls that will let you hang the RPi on the Right Front Wall and access the USB ports easily. Just a heads up: I use Octoprint and Cura to print, so I don't need an SD card. That means the Mainboard and RPi are set up without one - but if you want to add an SD Card Extender Mount, just let me know and I'll make it for you. For cooling, I've got two 75mm GPU fans blowing out the top and two 60mm fans blowing in from the sides. In the future, I'm planning a Stepper Driver shroud for the Left Side Fan to help keep everything cool. If you have any questions, requests or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment - I'll do my best to make it happen.
