Phases of the Moon
thingiverse
3-D model of the moon includes a textured hemisphere printed in white PLA to represent the “lit” half of the moon and a smooth hemisphere printed in black PLA to represent the “dark” side of the moon. The difference in PLA color is used to add an extra distinction between the two sides for visually impaired students who can still make out large shapes. The two halves of the moon will be connected to a knob that can be used to turn the moon in one direction with set intervals designed to match traditionally defined lunar phases in order. The moon will be surrounded by a frame designed only to show half of the moon, so students may only feel the half of the moon that would be visible from Earth.
