A khopesh, an ancient Egyptian sickle-sword, evolved from battle axes. Typically measuring between 50-60 cm in length, smaller versions are also present. The weapon's blunted tip serves as a bludgeon and hook. Khopesh transitioned from bronze to iron during the New Kingdom period. An early representation of this weapon dates back to 2500 BC on the Stele of Vultures, depicting King Eannatum of Lagash wielding it.
