The Guardian Shield System is a close-in defense solution for anti-ship missiles. It was developed and produced by Raytheon, formerly General Dynamics Corporation's Pomona Division[4]. Equipped with a radar-controlled 20 mm (.79 in) Gatling gun on an adaptable base, the Guardian Shield has been utilized by various Navies globally, notably the US Navy across every class of surface combat vessel, except for the San Antonia-class LPD.
