Upgrade your outdated design by using the Nano Extruder (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:27577) instead. As I received the PG35L extruder, I decided to create a new version of the Universal-Wade, optimized for use with the uniX-Carriage on Orca (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:25420) or Prusa (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:25600). This extruder is compatible with 1.75mm and 3mm filament (with brass inset for the latter), J-Head, Groovemount, Reprapfab, Geeksbase, Mendelparts V9/v10, and possibly many other hotends. It also features numerous small improvements. Test your print with a 0.35mm nozzle at a layer height of 0.28mm without support. Print all extruder parts and the brass insert of your hotend. For optimal performance, use 60% infill or more. There are two versions of the brass inserts, one for well-tuned printers (16.7mm) and another for less precise ones (16.4mm). The metal plate (PG35 Plate!) is only necessary for V9/V10 hotends but provides added stability with other hotends as well. For Reprapfab/Geeksbase hotends, file the screws square and press them from left to right against the hotend, especially at the important corner on the top side (pictures show only the lower side). For Mendel-Parts hotends, simply print the insert on the original plate. First, mount the hotend onto the carriage (using an additional screw beneath the plate) and then attach the extruder. Note: There is a mistake in the mounting plate holes for V9/v10, so a new mounting plate (carriertemplatePG35fixed.stl) is necessary for this extruder. The required components include a PG35L motor, MK7 Pulley or compatible, 40mm fan, two springs for the idler (fitting over M4 screw), two M4x60/70 screws, one zip tie, an 8x24mm bolt (20mm is also sufficient), a 608 bearing, eight M3 nuts (nylock if possible, except for the idler nut), three M3x30mm screws, one M3x15mm screw, four M3 washers (and ten spring washers if nylock nuts are not available), two M4 nuts (not nylock), two M4 nylock nuts, and two M4 screws of a length that fits your X-carriage. Additionally, for Mendel-Parts V9/V10, you will need a 28x32x2mm thick metal plate cut and drilled to fit into the printed "carriertemplatePG35fixed.stl," along with an M6 brass nut, two M4 nylock nuts, and two M4x15 screws. For 1.75mm filament printing, you will also need a brass tube with a diameter of 2.4mm/3mm.
