PG35L 1 to 1 Gear Adapter
thingiverse
This adapter replaces the gear set inside the PG35L stepper motor for a 1-to-1 gear ratio, allowing for easy reversion back to the original gear ratio without any modifications made to the stepper itself. Included are pictures of the disassembled stepper gearbox; simply pry open the three metal tabs gently and it will come apart easily. Remove the floating three-gear gear set and replace it with this adapter. I applied synthetic super lube to the end of the adapter facing the stepper motor, while the other end does not require any lubrication. When reassembling the gearbox, press the three tabs back into place gently. Given the tight tolerances involved, I've included the FreeCad file so users can make necessary adjustments based on their printer's specifications. A snapshot of my Kisslicer V1.6 Beta 2.4 settings is also provided for reference; I printed without using a cooling fan and employed Atomic Filament CF PETG material with a 0.4 hard steel nozzle, achieving good results despite the gear details' small size and my use of a single hard steel nozzle. This design aims to facilitate compatibility with one of my Zesty Nimble cable-driven extruders, which features less mass than the NEMA 17 motor I'm currently using and appears to be a 7.5-degree motor. However, it may lack sufficient torque to drive the Nimble; I'll update this information once I've had the opportunity to test it.
