Discover the renowned Pfierce Z-axis extenders that aided me in achieving my tallest print record found at http://wiki.makerbot.com/hall-of-fame-tallest-print. These were popularized by Makerblock (http://blog.makerbot.com/2010/09/28/speaking-of-makerbot-upgrades/) and http://makerblock.com/2010/07/mysteries-of-the-tall-print/. Now, you can print objects over 5 inches tall using a standard Cupcake! Apologies for the delay, but it was gratifying to hold the record temporarily. Credit goes to Makerblock for providing these enhancements. To install, print out each set of spacers and the z-crank. Clean them thoroughly, especially front/rear spacers. Adjust the rods to maximize length, assemble carefully, and ensure a precise fit by sanding and filing interfacing parts. Place the beam on the back of the front/rear spacers using M3x16 bolts and nuts. Insert the spacers (you may not need all 8), install the z-crank over a timing pulley, and finally secure everything for a finished appearance similar to the provided picture.
