PFIbox (Printed Fluorescence Imaging Box)

thingiverse

This is the 3D PFIbox model designed to accompany the Cell Systems paper "Open-Source High-Throughput Phenomics of Bacterial Promoter-Reporter Strains" by French, Coutts, and Brown (2018; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cels.2018.07.004). The box is a 3D printed housing that cradles a small transilluminator and a Raspberry Pi equipped with camera, capturing images of SBS footprint agar or microwell plates containing bacteria. Using your preferred image analysis software (such as ImageJ or Fiji), bacterial colony fluorescence can be precisely quantified and analyzed in high-throughput fashion.
