The parish church Hofstetten-Grünau is situated in Grünau within the market town of Hofstetten-Grünau. Founded at the start of the 12th century by the Hochfreien von Hofstetten, the church broke away from the Kilb parish in 1110 and achieved full parish status in 1310. The Romanesque hall church underwent a late Gothic transformation to become a three-nave church with an exceptionally high choir that almost reached the tower's great height. A fourteenth-century tower stands apart from the main structure. The nave was transformed into a baroque design during the 18th century. Between 1956 and 1958, the church underwent thorough restoration work. The late Gothic extension of the original Romanesque building featured the addition of the aisles and an extremely high choir that nearly matched the tower's impressive height.
