The three most common methods to steal a vehicle are: 1) Jamming and extending the signal of your keyless-entry fob 2) Obtaining the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and using it to order a replacement key 3) Utilizing the OBD-II port to initiate engine startup To counter these tactics, consider taking preventative measures such as: 1) Installing an inconspicuous start/stop switch 2) Printing out a privacy shield and placing it over your vehicle's VIN number on the windshield 3) Installing an OBD-II lock These modifications were initially designed for my 2016 Peugeot 308, but may be applicable to other automobile models as well.
