Peugeot 406 fuel tank lid fix

This is a simple solution to a very common issue with the fuel tank lid on Peugeot 406 vehicles. The plastic cornered piece can break down, and once that happens, the tank lid won't open unless you manually lift it with your hand after placing an object under the lever. To fix this problem, place a cone under the fuel tank lid opening lever. This will allow the lid to open immediately when you pull the lever. I've used this solution for several months now and it's still working well. The top of the cone may bend slightly, but that won't affect its functionality because the lid will still open easily. To use the cone, simply place it under a Torx screw (as shown in the image) and you're ready to go.
