Human: Petroglyph V5 Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah showcases a Human Figure with splayed toes and a hat or headdress, likely dating back to the Neolithic period of 5th-4th Millennium BCE [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)].\nLocated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE, Khatm Al Melaha is an extraordinary archaeological site, boasting one of the largest rock art collections in the UAE. Alongside petroglyphs, this site features stone houses, a shell midden, and ancient stone tombs that attest to its occupation spanning from the early Holocene era through the 19th century.\nA meticulous documentation process yielded over 175 stones with petroglyphs and nearly 400 distinct motifs, each assigned an ID number and GPS coordinate. In a single day, a comprehensive survey encompassed 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 precise GPS points (with an accuracy of +/- 1cm), all captured and processed using Reality Capture technology.
