The Neolithic Petroglyph V24, Khatm Al Melaha site near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE is home to ancient Arabian motifs. These designs are common throughout southern Arabia, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)]. Khatm Al Melaha is an archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea in Sharjah, UAE. This site boasts one of the largest collections of rock art in the UAE. Archaeologists have discovered stone houses, a shell midden, and stone tombs, dating back to the early Holocene era up to the 19th century. Over 175 stones featuring petroglyphs were documented and nearly 400 distinct motifs were identified. Each stone with glyphs was assigned a unique ID number and GPS coordinate. In a single day, researchers collected an impressive array of data: 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 precise GPS points, accurate to within 1 centimeter. State-of-the-art technology including Reality Capture and Substance Painter was employed to record and analyze the site's ancient rock art.
