[Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)]. Khatm Al Melaha is an archaeological site on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It is one of the largest rock art sites in the UAE. Over 175 stones with petroglyphs were thoroughly documented and nearly 400 distinct motifs were successfully identified. Each stone with a glyph was assigned a unique ID number and a precise GPS coordinate. In total, an impressive 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 high-quality drone videos, and 182 exact GPS points (+/- 1cm) were captured in just one day. Petroglyphs were skillfully identified using advanced Radiance Scaling techniques in Meshlab, expertly applied materials lighting in Substance Painter, and by carefully adjusting conditions in Sketchfab. Some intricate carvings were only visible when viewed under optimal conditions. Detailed drawings were made possible only when a recognizable line could be clearly identified using one of these sophisticated methods. Reality Capture and Substance Painter
