Khatm Al Melaha is an archaeological site on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It is one of the largest rock art sites in the UAE. The site features stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs, and other notable features that indicate human occupation from at least the early Holocene to the 19th century. Over 175 stones with petroglyphs were carefully documented, and nearly 400 motifs were identified. Each rock with a glyph was assigned a unique ID number and GPS coordinate. In one day, a massive amount of data was collected: 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 precise GPS points (within 1cm accuracy).
