Human: Natural Version. Petroglyph V1 Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah. Two faces of the same rock display two contrasting styles of artistry. Each panel features two Syrian Wild Asses and one Human Male in distinct poses. The difference in style implies that at least two artists were involved in creating these ancient works. Likely dating back to the Neolithic period between 5th-4th Millennium BCE [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)].\nKhatm Al Melaha is a remarkable archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It stands out as one of the largest rock art sites in the UAE. The site boasts various features such as stone houses, shell middens, and stone tombs that indicate human occupation spanning from at least the early Holocene era to the 19th century.\nOver 175 stones with petroglyphs were meticulously documented, and nearly 400 distinct motifs were identified. Each rock with a glyph was assigned an ID number and a precise GPS coordinate. In a single day, a staggering total of 25455 terrestrial photographs, 5244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 pinpointed GPS points (+/- 1cm) were captured.\nAll the collected data was meticulously processed using Reality Capture software.
