Petroglyph N22 Khatm Al Melaha is an extraordinary archaeological site located on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. This site boasts one of the largest collections of rock art in the UAE, with over 175 stones featuring petroglyphs and nearly 400 distinct motifs identified. Every single rock bearing a glyph was meticulously documented with a unique ID number and GPS coordinate. The sheer scale of this site is awe-inspiring, with features dating back to at least the early Holocene era extending all the way up to the 19th century. The area encompasses stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs, and other notable archaeological finds. Archaeologists have made significant strides in documenting the site's extensive petroglyph collection by conducting an impressive array of photographic and videographic surveys. In a single day alone, they captured over 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and precisely 182 GPS points with an accuracy of +/- 1cm.
