Experts believe this rock art is likely from the Neolithic or earlier era [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)].\nKhatm Al Melaha is a significant archaeological site located on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It boasts one of the largest collections of rock art in the UAE.\nOver 175 stones with petroglyphs were meticulously documented and nearly 400 distinct motifs were identified. Each stone bearing a glyph was assigned an ID number and a precise GPS coordinate. In just one day, an impressive total of 25455 terrestrial photographs, 5244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 accurate GPS points (+/- 1cm) were captured.\nPetroglyphs were carefully identified using Radiance Scaling in Meshlab, materials lighting in Substance Painter, and by analyzing changing conditions in Sketchfab. Some intricate carvings remained invisible until viewed under specific techniques. Drawings were created only when a visible line could be detected using one of these methods.\nReality Capture and DStretch technology played a crucial role in uncovering this ancient rock art.
