[Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)].\nKhatm Al Melaha is an archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It boasts one of the largest rock art collections in the UAE.\nOver 175 stones with petroglyphs were thoroughly documented and almost 400 distinct motifs were pinpointed. Every single rock bearing a glyph was assigned a unique ID number and GPS coordinate. In a remarkable feat, 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 precise GPS points (accurate to within 1cm) were captured in the span of a single day.\nPetroglyphs were meticulously identified using Radiance Scaling in Meshlab, materials lighting in Substance Painter, and by manipulating environmental conditions in Sketchfab. Some carvings remained entirely invisible until viewed under optimal conditions. Drawings were executed only when a clear line could be discerned using one of these advanced techniques.\nReality Capture with Paint
