These iconic motifs are frequently found in southern Arabia, Oman, and the UAE. [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)]. Khatm Al Melaha is an archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. It boasts one of the largest rock art collections in the UAE. Additionally, this site features stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs, and other notable attributes that confirm its occupation dates from at least the early Holocene to the 19th century. Over 175 stones bearing petroglyphs were meticulously documented, and nearly 400 motifs were successfully identified. Each rock with a glyph was assigned an ID number and a precise GPS coordinate. In a single day, a staggering total of 25455 terrestrial photographs, 5244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 GPS points (+/- 1cm) were captured. Reality Capture and Substance Painter techniques were employed to bring this ancient artwork to life.
