DStretch Version: Petroglyph G15 Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah. Reveals Two Ibex and an Unclear Animal. A Different Perspective Emerges from the DStretch Version. Khatm Al Melaha is a breathtaking archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. This impressive site boasts one of the largest collections of rock art in the UAE. In addition to petroglyphs, the site features stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs, and other remnants that date back to occupations spanning at least the early Holocene to the 19th century. Over 175 stones bearing petroglyphs were meticulously documented, with nearly 400 distinct motifs identified. Each rock with a glyph was assigned an ID number and GPS coordinate for thorough documentation. In a single day, a massive undertaking yielded 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 precise GPS points (accurate to within 1 cm). All data were expertly processed using Reality Capture and DStretch software.
