Human: Natural Version. Petroglyph G15 Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah. Possible two Ibex and an indistinct animal can be seen. A DStretch version reveals different details that are difficult to spot otherwise. Khatm Al Melaha is a breathtaking archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. This site boasts one of the largest rock art collections in the UAE, showcasing an impressive array of ancient petroglyphs. The site's rich history is evident in its numerous stone houses, shell middens, and stone tombs, which suggest that this location has been inhabited since at least the early Holocene era up to the 19th century. A thorough documentation process was conducted on over 175 stones bearing petroglyphs, resulting in the identification of nearly 400 distinct motifs. Each rock with a glyph was assigned an ID number and GPS coordinate for future reference. In a single day, a massive amount of data was collected: 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 GPS points (+/- 1cm) were captured and processed using Reality Capture.
