Human: Natural Version with Paint. Petroglyph G13 Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah. An enigmatic bull-like creature remains a mystery. The carvings are exquisitely challenging to discern. Khatm Al Melaha is an awe-inspiring archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. This vast rock art site is one of the largest in the UAE, boasting impressive stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs, and other features that testify to human occupation dating back to at least the early Holocene era and continuing up until the 19th century. A meticulous documentation process uncovered over 175 stones adorned with petroglyphs, accompanied by nearly 400 distinct motifs. Each rock bearing a glyph was assigned a unique ID number and GPS coordinate. In a single day, an astonishing amount of data was collected: 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 precise GPS points (accurate to within 1cm). All this vast array of data was meticulously processed in Reality Capture and Substance Painter.
