DStretch Version, Painted. Petroglyph G13 Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah. A bull-like animal appears, but remains unidentified due to extremely difficult carvings. Khatm Al Melaha is an archaeological marvel situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE. As one of the largest rock art sites in the UAE, it boasts numerous stone houses, a shell midden, stone tombs, and other features that demonstrate this site's occupation from at least the early Holocene to the 19th century. Over 175 stones with petroglyphs were meticulously documented, and nearly 400 motifs were identified. Each rock with a glyph was assigned an ID number and GPS coordinate. In one day, a staggering total of 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 GPS points (with an accuracy of +/- 1cm) were captured. All processing was conducted using Reality Capture, Substance Painter, and DStretch software.
