Human figures and Nubian Ibex are shown alongside Syrian Wild Ass on Petroglyph C5 at Khatm Al Melaha in Kalba, Sharjah. These depictions likely date back to the Neolithic era or earlier, echoing common themes found throughout southern Arabia, Oman, and the UAE. A virtually identical panel can be seen in Fossati's 2019 publication "Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains" (Oman), plate 4.19. Khatm Al Melaha is a prominent archaeological site situated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba, Sharjah, UAE. It boasts an impressive collection of rock art and serves as one of the largest such sites in the UAE. Additionally, the site features stone houses, shell middens, stone tombs, and other architectural remnants that suggest human occupation from at least the early Holocene period up to the 19th century.
