Human: Unveiling the Mysterious Petroglyphs at Khatm Al Melaha, Kalba, Sharjah. A Faint Image of an Unknown Creature Revealed. Experts Believe It Dates Back to the Neolithic Era or Even Earlier [Fossati 2019 Messages from the Past: Rock Art of the Al-Hajar Mountains (Oman)].\nLocated on the coast of the Oman Sea near Kalba in Sharjah, UAE, Khatm Al Melaha is an archaeological site boasting one of the largest collections of rock art in the UAE.\nOver 175 stones bearing petroglyphs were meticulously documented and nearly 400 unique motifs were discovered. Each stone with a glyph was assigned a distinctive ID number and GPS coordinate. On a single day, a staggering total of 25,455 terrestrial photographs, 5,244 drone photographs, 44 drone videos, and 182 precise GPS points (accurate to within 1cm) were captured.\nPetroglyphs were skillfully identified using Radiance Scaling in Meshlab, materials lighting in Substance Painter, and by manipulating conditions in Sketchfab. Some enigmatic carvings remained invisible to the naked eye until these advanced techniques were employed. Drawings were only rendered when a discernible line could be detected using one of these sophisticated methods.\nReality Capture
