This is a versatile pipe designed for the Petmate brand water pump, ideal for upgrading pet fountains with a worn-out component. The original fountain was compromised by bacterial growth, but the pump remained functional. I decided to repurpose the pump by submerging it in a container with a smooth bottom, ensuring the suction feet secured it firmly in place. This setup allows my cat to choose between drinking from the pipe's output or the surrounding water, catering to his preference for flowing water. By creating this adaptable solution, I avoided the need to purchase a new fountain-style drinking unit. When creating this design, consider applying a Polyurethane coating to prevent mildew buildup in microscopic crevices, ensuring long-term durability and pet safety. Alternatively, printing the pipe with food-safe materials like PETG will provide an added layer of protection for your pets' well-being.
