Using the MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner, a collaboration with GraphicsForge, scan your creation. To make this delicious dessert, begin by caramelizing 1 cup of sugar in a medium saucepan. Next, add sliced apples along with 1 tablespoon of salt, toss, and remove from heat. Create the piecrust using 1/4 pound of butter, about 3 cups of flour, and 1/3 cup of ground cinnamon. Roll out the piecrust and fit it into a pie tin, then place in the freezer. Strain the apples and reduce the caramel and apple drippings with a bit of corn syrup and a twist of lemon. Place the apples back into the piecrust, slather with caramel, and bake in an oven preheated to 300F for 45 minutes. Finally, slice and place your delectable pie on the Digitizer for scanning.
