Peter Pan Dagger
thingiverse
My kids were completely captivated by Peter Pan after watching the movie, and they became instantly obsessed with getting their hands on a dagger just like the one wielded by their hero. I scoured the internet and various online platforms but couldn't find anything that even remotely resembled the iconic cartoon prop. Undeterred, I decided to take matters into my own hands and designed my own version of Peter Pan's trusty blade from scratch. With a bit of paint and some TLC, the kids were overjoyed with their new toy. To make finishing easier, I initially printed the dagger as separate pieces - the blade and handle - that could be snapped together. This approach worked reasonably well, but unfortunately, it also introduced layer lines that compromised its structural integrity. My boys quickly put the design to the test and promptly broke the parts. I revised my approach and redesigned the model to print it in two halves, which I then superglued together for added strength. This new version proved much more resilient and has withstood their rough handling so far. For your reference, I've included both printing options - the initial separate pieces design and the revised two-halves model - in the files above.
