Petal knots: 4_1, 5_2 and 6_1

thingiverse

The 4_1, 5_2 and 6_1 petal knots constructed by Keally Rohrbacher and Sawyer Dunn-Matrullo (students in Math 383D Knot Theory Spring 2023). Petal knots are knots arranged so that there is just one crossing visible when they are seen from a particular viewpoint. There are two stl files for the 5_2 knot, as the knot was constructed in two different ways. The math for these petal knots can be found in the paper Knot Projections with a single multi-crossing by Colin Adams et al. in Journal of Knot Theory and its Ramifications Vol. 24, No. 3, 155011 (2015) https://www.worldscientific.com/doi/abs/10.1142/S021821651550011X A description of how the 3D printable models were constructed can be found here: https://mathvis.academic.wlu.edu/2023/05/20/parametrizing-petal-projections/
