Pet Wheelchair
thingiverse
This is a pet wheelchair that I designed and built for a friend's small dog, and it should work well for cats too, but we haven't tested it with them yet. To get started, you'll need to purchase the following items: * 4 - 608 bearings * 2 - bolts 1/4-20 x 2" long * 2 - nylock nuts 1/4-20 * 18 - 10-24 set screws * Approximately 24" of aluminum tubing with a diameter of 1/2" Once you have all the parts, you'll need to print them out using your 3D printer. You'll need to create the following items: * 2 - wheels * 1 - tube engagement - 4 degree - left * 1 - tube engagement - 4 degree - right * 2 - belly & Leg supports * 2 - front harness clips * 2 - rear supports * 2 - Wheel Support - Angled (or 2 Wheel Supports which are straight) You have two options for the wheel supports: if your dog loves to run and play, you might want to choose the angled wheel supports, but there are non-angled options available too. After printing all the parts, you'll need to attach the 608 bearings to either side of the wheels. Then, you can add velcro to a harness for your pet and create a sling based on their specific needs. The "Belly Leg Support" part has several attachment points where you can secure the sling. When assembling the wheelchair, make sure to determine how long to cut the aluminum tubing at that time to fit your pet's size perfectly. You'll need an allen wrench to tighten the setscrews and a regular set of wrenches to attach the wheels. Be careful not to overtighten the wheels so they don't turn. Also, don't forget to use a 10-24 tap to drill the holes where the setscrews go - otherwise, it might crack the plastic. You can easily do this by using the tap in an electric drill. It's quick and easy! To see how everything fits together, check out this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/nnb8IwKyPqI
