Pet Treat Dispenser
thingiverse
This internet-controlled pet treat dispenser has dual chutes and canholders, dispensing two treats simultaneously for owners with multiple cats. The model features a webcam to view the dispenser and make noise to attract pets. Its electronics are Arduino-based, attachable via USB or controlled remotely through Bluetooth dongle. A Perl CGI activates the pet feeder over the internet. Printed on Thing-O-Matic using PLA from Diamond Age and MakerGear, joiners are still under experimentation. Treat dispensing issues are being addressed by chopping treats into smaller pieces or redesigning parts for better agitation. Documentation and supplemental parts are provided, with new gear designs tested and proven effective. The hardware includes a NEMA17 stepper motor, M8x? + nut and washers, 608 bearing, and assorted M3 screws. Electronics require an Arduino or Atmega, voltage regulator, 12V stepper motor controller (e.g., Pololu), and optional Bluetooth serial dongle. Assembly instructions are given for successful construction, with tips on can holder tightness and dispenser orientation.
